Biebs is taking a break from the stage, but that didn’t stop him from performing for a select audience in a small venue in California just before the weekend.
Justin Bieber made headlines on July 24 by cutting short his tour to preserve his “soul and well-being.” But the “What Do You Mean?” singer was happy to perform for an audience of one in an elevator in L.A.
A newly converted Belieber was waiting to ride the lift at the Montage Hotel when the 23-year-old pop sensation got inside with him and the two exchanged pleasantries.
“He was by himself wearing a black satin bomber jacket with an embroidered pattern on back,” we’re told. “He was super polite and engaging — then he spontaneously started breaking into dance moves!”
We’re told that Bieber didn’t appear to be intoxicated and our insider doesn’t recall if there was music playing. Then, just like that, Bieber got off on the fourth floor, said goodbye, and off he went.
“It was certainly eccentric behavior,” laughed our spy, who seemed to find being a captive audience amusing and positive overall.
TMZ reported Monday that Bieber’s dad, Jeremy Bieber, flew in from Canada over the weekend to help his mercurial pop star son get himself back on track.
Justin Bieber, who was banned from performing in China last month due to unspecific behavior that has “caused discontent among the public,” announced last Wednesday that he was ending the “Purpose” tour he began in March 2016 and was originally scheduled to conclude on Oct. 7 in Singapore after 15 more performances. Bieber is managed by Scooter Braun, who saw his other big-money artist, Kanye West, cut short his world tour last November.
When spotted in Santa Monica after announcing he was taking a break, Bieber reportedly said he planned to rest and that he and his pals were “gonna ride some bikes.”
