Of course if Hamas wasn’t periodically launching rockets at Israel (each rocket being a war crime) and promising a genocide against Israelis, maybe there wouldn’t be a need for a siege. Residents of Gaza have the unfortunate situation of being propagandized in favor of genocide by the government, the mosques, the schools and Hamas.
The one-staters look jealously at Israeli democracy and wish that they could have the same. Unfortunately, rather than trying to bring their society up to the same social and democratic standards as their neighbours they pretend that by merging with Israel they will instantly become democratic.
Building a just society is hard work. If the Palestinians of the PA and Gaza wish to live in a democratic society then they should do that work themselves for themselves and not expect outsiders to rescue them.
