Re: Holy Land Foundation 5’ are victims of the US’ unjust persecution of Palestinians – Middle East Monitor

No problem but  I’m still waiting for you to provide evidence that Musk is bowing to conservative bots. I hear crickets, Shultz.

The FBI’s fight against terrorism funding paid a big dividend yesterday when five former leaders of a U.S.-based Muslim charity were convicted of funneling more than $12 million to the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas.

Guilty verdicts on all 108 counts against the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development were announced in federal court in Dallas, Texas, representing the largest victory against terrorist financing in the U.S. since the 9/11 attacks.

“For many years, the Holy Land Foundation used the guise of charity to raise and funnel millions of dollars to the infrastructure of the Hamas terror organization,” said Patrick Rowan, Assistant Attorney General for National Security. “This prosecution demonstrates our resolve to ensure that humanitarian relief efforts are not used as a mechanism to disguise and enable support for terrorist groups.”

The FBI first got involved in the Holy Land case nearly 15 years ago. In 1994, we began looking into the organization’s financial ties to Hamas. During the investigation, our agents traveled the globe to conduct more than 100 interviews, to sort through hundreds of boxes of documents (including many Arabic documents), to view hundreds of video and audio tapes in Arabic, and to review thousands of pages of bank records.

Noting that the FBI’s top investigative priority is counterterrorism, Robert E. Casey, Special Agent in Charge of our Dallas office, applauded yesterday’s verdicts and put terrorists on notice: “The FBI will continue to keep the country safe by actively investigating all forms of terrorist threats, whether that threat manifests itself in the planning or execution of a violent terrorist act or other crimes that provide support to terrorist organizations.”

Re: Palestine wasn't forgotten by football fans as FIFA World Cup kicked off in Qatar

Your dismissal of the raw antisemitism of this kind of behaviour is obscene

At Deir Yassin and other atrocities Zionist forces did actually not only f*ck the Palestinians and rape their daughters but slaughter them and stuff them down wells. And Begin said without Deir Yassin there would have been no Jewish state.

I have no truck with Hamas’ ruthless and inhumane methods such as the use of suicide bombers. However, in Hamas the Zionists have reaped what they sowed.

Goodness me – such a lot of wind, from such an ill-informed nobody.
FYI I travel a lot in the Middle East. Plus, I’ve been studying the Palestine/Israel conflict for 50+ years.
But you’re right on ONE point – it’s not an illegal arms factory – it’s several. And they’re being shut down just as fast as Palestine Action can do so. :>))

You don’t have to have a State to have an identity.

You don’t have to have a currency to have an identity.

You don’t have to have a capital city to have an identity.

Palestinians are recognised the World over as a group who have been mercilessly persecuted and brutalised by Jews. I don’t think anyone will ever forget that.

Re: Arab fans snub Israeli media – Middle East Monitor

I’m pretty sure people who went to a World Cup that was built on the graves of 6500 migrant workers are not that cognizant of or supportive of human rights. Qatar is a modern slave state that wasted $220B for a sport they can barely play. They could have spent 1/10th of than and donated another 1/10th to create economic opportunities for Palestinians or Sudanese or Somalis. Of the 3 million residents only 10% can vote. If the UK spent that kind of $ you’d be out launching a protest.

Most of those razzing Israeli journalists are Qataris and Kuwaitis, and no wonder given the antisemitic propaganda they’ve been fed in their school systems. Surprisingly the Saudis don’t seem to be joining in. Whereas Iranian fans in Qatar have showered love and admiration and support for Israelis. Negative images of Israel and Jews as “killers of all the prophets” run fairly deep in the Arab world and are unlikely to disappear overnight. Here’s a sample of some of the hate taught in Qatari schools:

Re: The crime of not responding to the Israel raids in Syria

The Alawites use to be discriminated against in Arab society but the Syrian Arab Republic has a secular constitution which allows Alawite, Druze, Shiite, Sunni, Ismaili and Christians to recognise each other’s as equal. This environment has allowed the Alawites to rise up in Syrian society in politics, military and business. You see other Islamic countries discriminate against Shiites and you see European Christian societies displaying Islamaphibia.
