No communication on H-1B visa cap from US: Govt

The commerce ministry has not received any communication from the US on its reported decision to consider caps on H-1B work visa for nations that mandate storing of data locally, sources said. India had last year mandated payment firms to store customer data exclusively in the country without creating a mirror sites overseas. Some US firms are opposed to this as it would require them to make additional investment.

AI is contemplating asking them not to seek crew help in any way like heating up the meal for consuming the same. A cap of 15% of the quota is being considered, for India. According to immigration attorneys that TOI spoke to, such a move, by the US govt, is likely to require Congress approval—US parliament—and cannot be introduced at short notice.
