AI pilots can't seek crew's help for outside meals

Air India on Wednesday asked the cabin crew and the pilots to schedule when and what the pilots want to eat before operating flights. AI is contemplating asking them not to seek crew help in any way like heating up the meal for consuming the same. These moves come after a spat between a pilot and flight purser reportedly on the issue of washing the captain’s tiffin box.

Income Tax returns: 3,500 exporters under lens

The govt has trained its guns on around 3,500 exporters whose customs records are not matching their income tax returns, while other 3%-odd traders are under the lens due to a mismatch in GST filings. To curb misuse, authorities are seeking checks on refund of integrated GST paid to exporters. There are nearly 12 lakh registered exporters/importers with 1.5 lakh being active.

A cap of 15% of the quota is being considered, for India. According to immigration attorneys that TOI spoke to, such a move, by the US govt, is likely to require Congress approval—US parliament—and cannot be introduced at short notice.

HDFC to buy Apollo Munich Health Insurance

HDFC has said it will buy a 51.2% stake in Apollo Hospital Group’s insurance arm, Apollo Munich Health Insurance Company for Rs 1,347 crore. German reinsurance company Munich Re, which formed the joint venture with Chennai-based Apollo Hospitals, will pay Rs 294 crore to Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd and Apollo Energy Ltd as termination fee.
