Thousands of Hongkongers join Labour Day marches as new minimum wage takes effect

More than 10,000 Hong Kong workers are expected to take to the streets on Labour Day, calling for better benefits and welfare, including the abolition of a controversial mechanism for the city’s compulsory pension scheme.
