A tornado or two can’t be ruled out.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible this morning, but these storms are not expected to become severe.

Our next chance for strong to even severe storms will hold off until Tuesday afternoon.

In the middle of the week, severe weather will be most likely in an area stretching from western IL back to northeast Texas.

Large hail and damaging winds are the main threats. Download the Storm Shield Weather Radio App for your iPhone or Android device and get severe weather alerts wherever you are. Have your weather safety plan ready to go!

The first one is already developing storms to our west. An additional few storms could develop along the southern edge of a cool front and near a dry line during the late afternoon hours today. This second looks to be the stronger system will a good chance of severe weather breaking out for several days. Storms there should fire up Tuesday afternoon and evening and then overnight into Wednesday make their way into our own area.
