Sanders Opens Office In California, A Must Win

Trump won NY with 54 percent of the primary vote.

Both candidates pulled off double digit victories and racked up the majority of delegates in what both campaigns viewed as essential wins in the Empire State.

Trump is trying to convince his party that if he comes close he should be awarded the nomination for President anyway-and avoid a messy nominating contest at the Party’s convention in July.

“The vote was incredible”. “The message to the voters is that ‘The system is corrupt and has to be changed, and I’m the real outsider.’ To the delegates, he’s playing a you-better-watch-it game – because the people are on to you”. But at the level of process, the race rewards candidates who pay attention to detail and know what they are doing.

Three delegates are allocated to the victor in each of New York’s 27 congressional districts provided that he has more than 50 percent of the votes. Four went to Ohio Gov. John Kasich and zero went to Sen.

“Lyin’ Ted. Lies, oh, he lies”.

Cruz campaign manager Jeff Roe told reporters, however, that the campaign will continue to run a “national campaign”. If Trump wins that, he can get the number.

Christie did not appear on stage with Trump at his rally. Latest polls indicates that Trump is leading in most of these states.

“What is clear today is that we are headed towards a contested convention”.

Nonetheless, Trump, who has often attacked party officials and claimed that election rules that vary from state to state have “rigged” the outcome against him, sent his top aides to meet Thursday with the 168 local and state officials who constitute the Republican National Committee.

“Donald, right now, is terrified”.

He later said, “Donald has had great difficulty winning west of the Mississippi River”. “New Yorkers, you’ve always had my back, and I’ve always had yours”. When Kornacki pressed him about how he intends to win the remaining Northeastern states given their similarity to New York, Weaver explained that New York was different because of Clinton’s “special relationship” with the state. Sanders is the first Jewish candidate to win major party state nominating contests.

Exit polls show that Clinton won overwhelmingly among blacks and was strong among women. Bernie Sanders argued earlier this month that Clinton is not qualified, though he later backed off those remarks.

The New York win of Trump has allowed him to have a total of 845 delegates, making him 392 delegates short of reaching the 1,237 delegates needed to be the GOP nominee.

Sanders took 104 delegates for the Democrats. The relative quietness of the Democratic primary stands in contrast to the GOP race, which is picking up pace in Indiana.

Clinton’s campaign reported a haul of almost $27 million over the same period, including $22.4 million in individual donations.
