Massachusetts landmarks lit in purple to honor Prince


“The Peace Bridge is proud to illuminate in remembrance of Prince and on behalf of Canada and the United States”, said Peace Bridge Authority board chairman Sam Hoyt. Here’s a sample of locations choosing to recognize the Purple One after his death at 57 on Thursday.

Camden is joining cities all across the world, in lighting up landmarks in memory of the singer.

The Eiffel Tower, New Orleans’ Superdome, the Omni Hotel in Dallas and more changed their lights, as well.

The bridge joins other buildings and structures around the world that celebrating in a similar manner.

As cities paid tribute by illuminating popular places, celebrities took to Twitter where they expressed their shock and sadness at the news, and fans who lived nearby mourned at Prince’s Paisley Park estate.

Snapchat also honored Prince by introducing a Purple Rain filter that adds drops of purple rain to whatever users are snapping at the moment. “This is Not A Love Song”. Less than 25 minutes later Prince was pronounced dead.
