Mankato body shop owner accused of a most unusual payroll currency

Police are investigating after a Minnesota auto body shop gave its employees methamphetamine “bonuses”, the Smoking Gun reports.

Authorities have raided an auto fix shop in Mankato after an employee told them workers received meth as bonus pay.

Authorities say the drugs were openly distributed by the girlfriend while the owner was present. Syringes and a digital scale with traces of meth were found at the Mankato business as the task force search the building on Thursday.

The owner was arrested before the search warrant was executed on a misdemeanor driving violation. He had been held at the Blue Earth County Jail.

The task force says the investigation has been “lengthy” to this point and is still ongoing.

The task force said Seifert’s girlfriend was involved in the distribution of meth to employees at the body shop during an employee meeting Wednesday, but she has not been charged.

“Least now we know why the work was so fast and extra attention was paid!!” It’s unclear what will happen to the establishment if both Jesse Michael Seifert and Nancy Jean Loehlein end up behind bars for paying their employees in meth.
