Consumer Sentiment Slides at the Beginning of 2018

U.S. households became less confident about the economic outlook at the beginning of 2018, with sentiment easing for the third consecutive month from its highest level in a decade.

The University of Michigan on Friday said its consumer-sentiment index was 95.7 in January, down from 95.9 in December. It dropped in December and November after hitting the highest level since 2004 in October.
