Ola has hired Anand Shah, an advisor to a lobby firm headed by former US Secretary of State Madeline Albright, to drive the ride-hailing firm’s electric vehicle programme that has been struggling to take off in the country.

Till December, he was a senior vice-president focused on India and South Asia market for Albright Stonebridge Group, a Washington DC based lobby group, following which he has turned a senior advisor, an update on his LinkedIn page said.

Shah previously was the head of the skunkworks of BMW that identified opportunities on future of mobility, parts of it the German auto major has implemented in its business. He ran the programme that interviewed over 2,000 people across the globe to look at emerging trends that could potentially disrupt the automobile business.

He was earlier involved with the social innovation platform at Audi. Shah worked in Gujarat as a founder of Sarvajal, a Piramal Foundation funded initiative to set up water ATMs to provide affordable access to clean water in the state.
