The persons in authority at the hospital were unable to produce registration papers to the officials. The inspectors found that the hospital lacked medical staff, doctors, and had been running without proper medical facilities.
Talking in this regard, deputy chief medical officer Dr Ajay Kapoor said that the hospital was running under the name āAgra City Hospitalā and was not registered with the department. Earlier, he said, the hospital ran in the name of āCMC Sanmati Hospitalā. After its license expired after a year, instead of renewing it, the hospital changed its name and continued operating.
āThe hospital was running with new name. There were only two to three patients found. We have ordered to seal the hospital for not having a registration with the department. We have asked persons concerned at the hospital to shift the patients to another hospital. Further action will be taken in this regard,ā he added.
Kapoor also said that the health department had taken action against 10 unregistered hospitals and clinics in the last two months. The drive against such institutions will continue till the end of April. Hospitals have been asked to renew their registrations by April, he added.
