Char Dham route is also a high priority area. We will also deploy super-specialists in these three districts to aid pilgrims and local residents.”
The hill state, which has 2,716 sanctioned posts of government doctors, now has 1,500 doctors.
Jha said that doctors have also been given postings based on “convenience” so they have an incentive to join the service.
In order to allure the doctors join the department, they have been given convenience postings, Jha said.
“We ensure married couples are posted nearby while some are deployed in native places. It is for the first time that many of the doctors who were called for interview showed willingness to join,” he said.
